Crystal Coast, North Carolina
This is an area on the coast at the southern tip of the Outer Banks. It is a beautiful area with miles of beach and many small towns to explore. On 4th of July every town or community has a fireworks display. We wpent our honeymoon here many years ago. Easter we will be going back to this area. My husband loves to go out deep sea fishing here. I love to eat the fish he catches.
You can see wild Spanish horses on Shackleford Banks. The area is rich in history. It is a scuba divers paradise. Cape Lookout lighthouse is a big attraction, as is also Fort Macon and NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
One place to eat that is a must is Bushwackers Restaurant. They have the most delicious alligator bites. Get a table by the window so you can look out over the beach while you dine. 4th of July you can dine and watch fireworks at the same time.
You can visit sighs where Blackbeard hung out to avoid capture.
I love the outer banks area, Morehead City is probably an extension of my favorite place on Earth.
ReplyDeleteOK, you sold me with "many small towns to explore." Well, that and the ocean views! I don't think I'll be trying any gator bites, though!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the horses at the beach! It is just so peaceful and calm.
ReplyDeleteI know this area well and it is a great place to visit. I live in Beaufort SC and my wife was born in Beaufort NC which is on your map.
